NOIDA: Sunita Gurjar, the only woman in the gang of five who kidnapped the DRDO Scientist, boasts of his high-profile connections on his Facebook page.
One of her featured photos shows her posing with actor Salman Khan on the sets of Bigg Boss 10. He had made a brief appearance on the show and identified himself as a relative of Manveer Gurjar, that season’s winner.
He also uploaded a photo with BJP MP Mahesh Sharma, which appears to have been taken at a public event.
Popular in her Agahpur village as Babli, Sunita claims to have been associated with BJP and identifies herself as the president of the party’s Maharana Pratap mandal.
However, the BJP district chairman Manoj Gupta said the woman was associated with the party two or three years ago as a normal civil servant and did not hold any position as such.
“He was never awarded any position in the party. She was a party worker two or three years ago. But anyone can be a party worker. MPs know so many people, ”he added, referring to the photo with Sharma.
Police said Sunita had two PAN cards with different names. Her other photo IDs are under investigation, police added. Sunita has also given several interviews claiming to be Manveer Gurjar’s sister-in-law. In one of the interviews, she talks about her school days and how Manveer has changed after her appearance on Bigg Boss 10. “Now, people recognize me as Manveer Gurjar’s bhabi,” she says in one of the videos.
However, Manveer’s family has clarified that they know the woman because she is from the same town and had asked her to accompany them to Bigg Boss 10 as they had 20 tickets for the show. “She is a very well known person here. Everyone knows that she is related to the family of the village head. We only know her because we are from the same town. She is not directly related to our family, ”said Anup Gurjar, Manveer’s younger brother.
