India’s captain Virat Kohli is considered one of the best cricketers of the modern era. The fact that Kohli didn’t score a century in 2020 became a big topic of discussion after the ODI tour of India in Australia, even though he scored two fifty in a row against the solid bowling lineup in Australia. Such is the impact Kohli has on limited overs cricket.
This is why former India captain Sunil Gavaskar believes that Kohli is the player who has had the most impact on ODIs in the last decade.

Kohli, during Australia’s ODI series, broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for becoming the fastest player to reach the 12000-ODI racing mark. Gavaskar believes that it is not just about the stats and the numbers, but also how Kohli’s numbers have resulted in India winning the game.
“I think if you look at it as an individual, it certainly has to be Virat Kohli, because if you look at the number of games that he won for India when India has been chasing great scores,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports’ Cricket Connected.
“I look at the impact that a player has had, and not just the careers or terrains that he has taken, and in that aspect it must be said that in this decade it has really been Virat Kohli who has had the greatest impact on the games that have won the India, “he added.
India will play a four-game Test series against Australia starting with the first Test in Adelaide, which begins on December 17.
