On Saturday, Congress appealed to its allies in the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA), led by Shiv Sena, to refrain from commenting on the party’s leadership if they want a “stable” government in the state.
Acting Congress President Yashomati Thakur, who is also a minister, made the appeal after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) head Sharad Pawar said Rahul Gandhi’s leadership appears to lack “coherence.” Pawar’s comments came in an interview with the Marathi daily Lokmat.
In a series of tweets in English and Marathi, Thakur referenced interviews and articles from MVA leaders. “… I must appeal to the MVA colleagues if they want a stable government in Maharashtra, then stop commenting on the leadership of Congress. The leaders of NCP and Shiv Sena have played down Pawar’s comments, saying they have no connection to the stability of the tripartite state government.
