Chandigarh:

One day after Arvind Kejriwal asked AAP workers to travel through Punjab with an oximeter, to measure blood oxygen levels and identify potential Covid patients, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh responded and called Kejriwal to stay out of his state and focus on management. the situation in the national capital.

“We don’t need your oximeters. We just need you to monitor your workers in Punjab, where they are trying to entice my people not to go to hospitals to get tested and treated for Covid,” Amarinder Singh said.

Singh was referring to the circulation of a video alleging that the state health department was harvesting organs from dead Covid patients. The video, labeled fake, and probably from Pakistan, by the state government, was allegedly distributed by an active worker at Kejriwal AAP.

Alleged AAP worker Amrinder Singh, 31, has been arrested and is being questioned about the source of the video and his intent behind its distribution.

Sources said that Amrinder Singh, who was allegedly an AAP candidate to participate in the Ferozepur Assembly elections, was endangering people’s safety by inciting them not to cooperate with health officials.

Amarinder Singh also stated that Kejriwal’s announcement, about party workers wearing oximeters, raised serious questions about his party’s role in a “conspiracy to undermine the efforts of the Punjab government to keep the pandemic under control and save the lives of the people of the state. “

He hinted at a “massive plot by elements opposed to Punjab interests,” and revealed that the police registered a case this morning after a local journalist claimed they had offered him money to shoot a fake video about Covid.

“Such rumors causing a part of the community to resist proper medical care, which must be provided to all citizens affected by Covid, … is a clear case of a deadly criminal conspiracy,” Singh said.

Amarinder Singh called on Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta to thoroughly investigate the journalist’s complaint and ensure strict action against all those who endanger the lives of the people of the state.

Punjab has reported nearly 57,000 Covid cases so far, of which 1,618 are virus-related deaths and around 15,600 are active cases.

Delhi, on the other hand, has over 1.79 lakh of confirmed cases, of which around 16,500 are active and around 4,500 are deaths.

India crossed the 38.5 lakh mark this morning, with a record 83,883 new cases.
