NEW DELHI: Days after Andhra Pradesh Prime Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote to the Chief Justice of India complaining to Supreme Court Justice NV Ramana and certain Andhra High Court judges in the context of the Amaravati land scam, a guilty plea was filed on Monday against Jagan before the supreme court.
Ajeya Kallam, the prime minister’s senior adviser, published copies of the letter at a recent press conference. Attorney Sunil Kumar Singh, who entered the guilty plea, said that press conferences against judges should cease. He also sought a demonstration cause notice against Jagan asking why appropriate action should not be taken against him.
“The defendant’s deed and deed is an attempt to tarnish the majesty of the highest court in the country,” the statement read. The petitioner maintained that Jagan had exceeded all the limits prescribed by the Constitution.

“According to the Constitution of India, as provided in Articles 121 and 211 of the Constitution of India, it has been ordered that no discussion be held in Parliament or the state legislature regarding the conduct of any judge of the Supreme Court or of the Superior Court in the fulfillment of his duty “.
Furthermore, it is stated that the freedom of expression guaranteed by article 19 (1) (a) of the Constitution is subject to reasonable restrictions in relation to contempt of court and defamation.
“In today’s society, where discussion in the media and on social networks can go crazy in days or hours, it can affect the image of the judiciary and, therefore, the confidence of the general public in the judiciary” , the statement reads.
He said that the CM is under oath and loyalty to the Constitution and, therefore, is bound by it to respect the judiciary.
In his letter to Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, Jagan had alleged that some higher court judges were trying to protect the interests of the opposition Telugu Desom party in politically sensitive matters.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday ordered the IWC to investigate recent posts on social media against its judges and the judiciary to unravel the conspiracy, if it exists. The court asked the CBI to take action against anyone regardless of their position, if the angle of the conspiracy is established.
