State reports 10 new cases; none from Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 10 fresh cases of coronavirus on Monday, as per the state’s midday update. With this, the total number of positive persons in the state has gone up to 858.

Among these, 422 people have been cured and discharged, while 31 have succumbed to the virus, informed the state health department.

A 38-year-old man tested positive for the contagious virus in Kalaburagi, however, the source of his infection is still not known. Contact tracing for the patient is underway.

Three people from Davanagere have been infected with the virus. Out of these, a 30-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man are primary contacts of previously infected patients, while a 56-year-old woman is a secondary contact of patient number 667 of the state.

A 26-year-old man from Shiggavi town of Haveri district tested positive for COVID-19 and he has a travel history to Mumbai.

A 20-year-old man with a travel history to Ahmedabad has also come out to be positive in Banahatti town of Bagalakote. Also, a 28-year-old man has contracted the virus in Badami town of Bagalkote.

A 20-year-old lady in Vijayapura has tested positive for COVID-19, while two men – a 27-year-old and a 50-year-old – have been diagnosed as coronavirus positive in Bidar.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa flagged off four mobile COVID-19 fever clinics. Old state-run KSRTC buses have been converted into mobile fever clinics, similar to the ones already operational in Mysuru, Raichur, Kalaburagi, the CM said.

Each of these mobile fever clinics will have a doctor and three paramedical staff.
