State governments make special arrangements when students show up for UPSC preliminaries


The Union Public Utilities Commission (UPSC) civil services (preliminary) examination will take place on Sunday with various precautionary measures amid the coronavirus pandemic. Several state governments have made special transportation arrangements for UPSC applicants who sit for the exam.

In the national capital, Delhi Metro Railways Corporation (DMRC) started operations at 6 am to facilitate the movement of candidates. Metro services on Sundays generally begin at 8 am.

“I used public transportation to get downtown. It wasn’t safe, but what can I do? I had to take the exam, ”the ANI news agency said, citing a candidate in Delhi.

In Maharashtra, the railways ministry gave candidates and people escorting them to examination centers permission to travel on special services through Mumbai ‘s suburban train network on Sunday. Candidates can use the exam convocation letter and I card to enter the station.
