South Africa vs England 1st T20 live: Strengthening its cricket portfolio, Star India has acquired the media rights to Cricket South Africa (CSA) until the end of the 2023/24 cricket season, in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. The agreement grants Star India exclusive rights in linear and digital media, including all tours from India to South Africa in this period. The partnership will kick off with the tour from England to South Africa from November 27, 2020, which is the return of cricket on the Star Sports Network after its biggest IPL. Star India already has the global rights to ICC, BCCI cricket, Indian Premier League, in addition to other cricket rights.

The Dream11 IPL broadcast was an unprecedented collective effort built on the same principles. We hope to apply the same approach and improve the consumer experience of CSA games. The partnership will kick off with the South African tour of England on November 27, 2020, during which all three T20Is will be broadcast in Hindi for the first time. This will give these parties significant reach in the Hindi-speaking markets. “ added.
CSA Acting Chief Executive Officer Kugandrie Govender said: “There are few social events on the South African sports calendar that attract our fans as much as the cricket showdown between South Africa, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, so we wholeheartedly welcome this deal with Star India. Knowing that the sport reaches millions of people around the world, which is now further amplified by this Star deal, you will see our Protea teams even more empowered to impress fans and outperform their rivals! The agreement will cover all international cricket matches played by the South African men’s cricket team. According to Future Tours Plan, South Africa will play 59 home games, including series against top teams such as India, England and Australia. With the Indian cricket team scheduled to tour South Africa three times in this period, this agreement comprises 20 bilateral matches between South Africa and India in all formats, with the first of these tours starting in 2021/22 and consisting of of three tests and three T20I. The agreement will also cover women’s international cricket matches played by Momentum Proteas, as well as CSA men’s national franchise matches.
Cricket resumes on the Star Sports network with the T20I matches for the South Africa vs England series. This will be the first for Star India in a bilateral cricket tournament outside of India to be produced in Hindi on SS1 Hindi in addition to the English broadcast. England’s tour of South Africa will consist of three T20Is and three ODIs, starting on 27 November. The next campaign in the series focuses on the battle between the South African pacemakers, who face the strong English batting formation. This will be the first major series for both teams after the IPL, with strong artists of the season such as Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Joffra Archer, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje.
