New Delhi: Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer Vikash Singh demanded on Wednesday the formation of a new forensic team to carry out an investigation into the death of the actor. In reporting to the media, Singh said that previous doctor Sudhir Gupta had said that Sushant’s death occurred by strangulation based on the images sent to him, but that the AIIMS report later ruled out the murder.

Vikas Singh said that the AIIMS team only had to give an opinion and not a conclusion. He said the doctor has no right to call Sushant’s death suicide and that only the CBI can reach a conclusion to that end.

Furthermore, the lawyer alleged that the AIIMS doctor prepared the report in a hurry. “He made some casual comments. No comment was made about the injuries to Sushant’s body,” he said. He also said he would move the Bombay High Court if necessary to seek the constitution of a new team.

Singh said he has written to the CBI director to set up a new forensic team to examine the reports prepared by Cooper Hospital and provide an opinion on whether or not Cooper Hospital’s opinion can be upheld. In a letter, Singh said: “The matter must be referred to another forensic team for CBI to constitute.”

He also said that it should be examined who the team was meeting with during the preparation of the report.

Commenting on actress Rhea Chakraborty’s guilty plea order in connection with the NCB case, Singh said it is a very small case. “According to me, the NCB case against Rhea Chakraborty is weak. The real case is that of administering narcotics to Sushant without her knowledge,” he said.
