The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost their third game in five outings of their current IPL campaign on Sunday. They lost his pacemaker Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who suffered an injury in the game against Chennai Super Kings. (CSK). While many estimated that the pace bowler will return after missing a few matches, Bhuvi has now been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

This is a huge blow for SRH, who is already struggling with his bowling resources this season. His replacement, Siddarth Kaul, filtered 64 runs in four overs against Mumbai Indians (IM) on small ground in Sharjah and was not in great shape on the ball.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar suffered a hip injury while playing the 19th against CSK and was stopped in his career. The physio attended him in the middle and made the bandages. But even then, the fast pitcher couldn’t complete his run and went off the field. Cricket Next confirmed the news that the cricketer was ruled out of the 2020 IPL on Monday.

Meerut’s pacemaker was one of the best Death Over bowlers for SRH and had chosen three wickets in four games he played while conceding runs with an economy of just 6.98.

A blow also for the capitals of Delhi

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Amit Mishra, the springboard of Delhi Capitals, has been ruled out of the IPL. He suffered the finger injury during the previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and was out of bounds after throwing just two overs of his quota. The leg-spinner played just three games for DC and chose so many terrains.

He had had a chance in Game XI after Ravi Ashwin was injured in the team’s first game. However, thanks to Mishra’s performance, she retained her place even after the swivel was returned to the side after regaining her physical state.

The injuries to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Amit Mishra are huge blows for their respective franchises as they will soon have to find a replacement. And with COVID-19 restrictions, teams must be content with the resources they possess until the replacement player joins the team.
