New Delhi [India], Sept. 28 (ANI): S Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir have urged Congress leader Shashi Tharoor not to compare Rajasthan Royal hitter Sanju Samson to MS Dhoni.
Samson had played an 85-run hit against Kings XI Punjab when the Rajasthan Royals chased a 224 goal with four wickets in hand and three balls to spare.
Taking note of Samson’s entries, Tharoor tweeted: “What an absolutely amazing win for @rajasthanroyals! I’ve known @iamSanjuSamson for a decade and told him when I was 14 that someday I would be the next MS Dhoni. Well, that is the day. he’s here. After his two incredible innings at this IPL, you know a world-class player has arrived. “
However, both Gambhir and Sreesanth urged Tharoor not to compare Samson and Dhoni, as the former is one of their kind.
“Sanju Samson doesn’t need to be next. He’ll be ‘the’ Sanju Samson of Indian Cricket,” Gambhir tweeted.

“I am sure he will continue to play well and it is not just these 2 innings … he will also break many records and win many more world cups for our country. So do not compare him to anyone. His best is yet to come,” Sreesanth said.
Sanju Samson had played a 74-run knock against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and followed it up with an 85-run knock against Kings XI Punjab.
The Royals chased 224 with four wickets in hand and three balls to spare against Kings XI Punjab at Sharjah’s Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
For the Royals, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith and Rahul Tewatia scored more than 50 points to give the team a victory by four wickets. Tewatia came out to bat at number four and was in trouble at one point as he was initially unable to hit the ball.
However, in 18 more. pitched by Sheldon Cottrell, Tewatia hit five sixes to turn the wing. The left-handed hitter played a 53 stroke when Rajasthan scored an unlikely victory.
For KXIP, Mayank Agarwal had scored a ton and these were his first hundred in the IPL. The right-hander Mayank played a 106 50-ball knockout with the help of 10 fours and 7 sixes to bring the team total to 223/2.
Rajasthan has now won its first two matches in the current edition of the IPL. The team will face the Kolkata Knight Riders on September 30, while Kings XI Punjab will face the Mumbai Indians on October 1. (ANI)
