Sourav Ganguly stable, a decision will soon be made on a new angioplasty

BCCI president and former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly, who underwent angioplasty after a “mild” heart attack, is stable and his health parameters are normal, doctors said Sunday.

He was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries on Saturday, after which a stent was inserted into one to remove the blockage.

“A night passed without incident and currently Afebrile (not feverish) … Now he is sleeping,” read a bulletin issued by the private hospital where Ganguly is admitted.

The former cricketer’s blood pressure is 110/70 and the oxygen saturation level is 98 percent, he said.

Doctors said they will decide to perform another angioplasty after agreeing to Ganguly’s condition.

“He will need another angioplasty due to the three vessel disease. But that depends on how your condition is. However, now he is out of danger, ”one of the doctors treating Ganguly said Saturday.

A routine ECG will also be done on Sunday morning, according to the bulletin.

The batter was rushed to the hospital Saturday afternoon with complaints of chest pain.
