Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of India and current chairman of the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI), was transferred to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata after he complained of chest pain on Wednesday. Ganguly had undergone angioplasty earlier this month in Kolkata at Woodlands Hospital. At the time of his discharge, doctors had said that a decision would be made on more stents later. A nine-member medical board from Woodlands Hospital concluded on January 4 that angioplasty on the other two Ganguly coronary blocks, LAD and OM2, will be performed at a later stage.
The former captain of India had spent five days in the hospital before being discharged after doctors rated him clinically fit on January 7.

“Mr. Ganguly is clinically fit. He slept well and ate. He wanted to stay in the hospital one more day. So he will go home tomorrow. It is his personal decision,” said Dr. Rupali Basu, MD and CEO of Woodlands Hospital had said.
The doctor had also mentioned that the former captain of India would be monitored at his home on a daily basis after being discharged.
