Actress Samantha Akkineni has participated in the #SorrySara and #SorryRakul online trend, after a news channel report said the two actors were named by Rhea Chakraborty as drug users. The claim has since been rejected by the Office of Narcotics Control, prompting social media users to apologize to the two actors for the misinformation.
On Instagram Stories, Samantha shared a post about Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh not being summoned and wrote: “#SorryRakul, #SorrySara.”
Times Now had previously reported that Rhea Chakraborty, during questioning, had named Sara, Rakul and fashion designer Simone Khambhatta, among others, as drug users. The report claimed that the NCB had prepared a list of 25 Bollywood names who would be summoned for questioning.
NCB Deputy Director KPS Malhotra told the Free Press Journal that no names from Bollywood have been included for summons. He said: “We have not prepared any Bollywood lists. The list prepared earlier was of street vendors and traffickers. It is being confused with Bollywood. The names have not been reset. “

Rhea, her brother Showik, Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Swant, Abdul Basit and Zaid Vilatra have been arrested on drug-related charges in the ongoing investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea has been accused by Sushant’s family of having instigated the actor’s suicide and embezzled his funds. She is currently in Byculla Prison.
Rhea was also reported to have told NCB that Sushant used to smoke marijuana and that she started smoking while filming Kedarnath, which also starred in Sara. “Yes, Sushant used to smoke marijuana, he used to use it even before he met me. She started this during Kedarnath. I used to control it only in this department. He was a man of his own making and no one could stop him, ”he told Aaj Tak in an interview.
