BENGALURU: it Was a plane going supersonic, an earthquake, or simply the cold and the hot air in a collision that created a loud noise that many parts of the southeast of Bengaluru heard at around 1.25 pm on Wednesday? It could have been any of the three, but authorities have not ruled out an earthquake officially.
“The activity is reported in Bengaluru is not due to an earthquake. The seismographs did not catch any ground vibration as is usually the case during a slight tremor. The activity is purely a loud noise unknown,” Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC) said.
With the earthquake having been ruled out, another possibility was that a fighter plane was supersonic during an air test of the creation of a sonic boomas many people have also sighted a plane after hearing the sound. Although the defence of the power supply HAL ruled out any of their aircraft have gone supersonic, the IAFthat is also the test of combatants in Bengaluru has not yet officially responded.
“During the tests in the profile will include testing of supersonic speed. However, there are clear parameters of how to do it, and if it is indeed from a plane, it would be by mistake,” a former test pilot of the air force told TOI.
Another source of the KSNDMC quoted an expert and he said that was the likely effect of heavy vacuum created and the sudden entry of the Cyclone. What this means is that hot and cold air collide, as happens during cyclones, and create a vacuum. The experts say that it is an atmospheric phenomenon, but not of the thunder.
While the second and third theories need to be confirmed, the event itself saw a lot of drama in Bengaluru, both on the ground and in social media.
