NEW DELHI. Prashant Kishor, a political analyst and ‘political assistant’ to West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in an interview with Times Now said that “Mamata needs me as much as Mr. Modi needed me in 2014.”

This comment from Kishor sparked a host of memes and jokes directed at him for hinting that he was behind the victory of the Modi-led BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Kishor’s attempt to take credit for Modi’s victory was not well received by Twitter users.

Many wondered if Kishor was so good at his job, why did BJP win 21 more seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections without him, when he was supposedly helping the opposition.
