All schools will remain closed in the national capital until further orders are issued, Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday.
“Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal and I thought that if we, as parents, wanted to take the risk of sending our children to school. Therefore, the Delhi government has decided that all MCD public schools, private, assisted and unaided, will remain closed in Delhi until the next orders, ”said Senior Deputy Minister Sisodia.
News18.com had reported that the Delhi government could extend its orders to keep schools closed after October 31 for almost a month.
Sisodia added: “The threat of the coronavirus still looms over the country and the world. The growing number of cases is cause for concern. Among teachers, parents, children, the question arises whether schools will reopen. Behind this question, there is a fear that children may contract the disease. Parents and teachers who have known me have suggested that schools should not be allowed to reopen, for now, if between two and four hundred children start coming to schools, it will increase the threat of spreading the virus. Around the world, wherever schools reopened, fear was prevalent and cases were also on the rise ”.
