Sindh Police Rebel Against Pak Army: The Tribune India

Islamabad, October 21

In a show of open defiance against the Pakistani army, Karachi police officers threatened to go on mass leave on Wednesday after the Sindh police chief was allegedly kidnapped and coerced into taking action against the vice president of PML (N) , Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Sources in Islamabad said that with the ongoing contest between the Opposition and the Army, Pakistan was slipping into a situation similar to a civil war.

Sindh police alleged that they were pressured to arrest Maryam’s husband, Safdar Awan. Sindh is led by CM Syed Murad Ali Shah of the Pakistan People’s Party.
