Simon Doull just raised an upset Dhoni fan who asked the IPL commentator not to criticize the CSK captain

A loyal Dhoni fan asked former Kiwi cricketer turned commentator Simon Doull, who is currently commenting at IPL 2020, not to criticize Thala.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, over the years, has taken Indian cricket to great heights. In his career of more than 15 years, Dhoni won several laurels for the country and is regarded as one of the best captains India has produced in Testing and ODI. His passage through the T20 format has been equally commendable, leading the winning team at the inaugural World Twenty20 in 2007. Dhoni has also represented the highly successful Chennai Super Kings franchise, lifting the trophy three times since the inception of IPL.

But 2020, especially the current IPL season in the United Arab Emirates, has been a forgetful year for both the captain and his team, who have been eliminated from the playoff race due to their 8 losses in 12 games.

While CSK has been criticized for its poor performances, Dhoni’s poor performance with the bat has not earned him praise either. However, some loyal fans have stuck with Dhoni and one of them has explicitly approached former New Zealand cricketer and current IPL commentator Simon Doull, instructing him to “mind” his own business and refrain from criticize the CSK captain.

On Twitter, Doull shared a screenshot of a fan’s post in which the latter wrote:

“Dear Simon, please stop commenting on MS Dhoni! I hope you take care of your own work. You have not done anything extraordinary to criticize the great man! With all due respect please refrain from such habits!”

In response to the post on Twitter, Doull called it “weird” and wrote: “I’m so sorry, Pratik, but in case you don’t understand a commenter’s job, it’s to comment on the game and the people who play it. That have a great day mate. #bizzare “

Doull’s response soon went viral on social media and cricket fans, including those in India, supported the commentator for doing an unbiased job.

Dhoni has scored 199 runs for CSK in 12 games at IPL 2020 with a hit rate of 118.
