‘Shocking and sad’: Maharashtra Interior Minister on Kangana Ranaut’s Y + security

Maharashtra Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh said Monday that the Center’s decision to provide Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut with Y-plus security was “surprising and sad.”

The Interior Ministry has granted Y-plus category security to Ranaut and it will be guarded by 10-11 armed commandos in three shifts.

The security arrangement was provided prior to his visit to Mumbai on September 9 after his dispute with Shiv Sena’s leader Sanjay Raut, who had asked the actor not to return to Mumbai for criticizing the Mumbai police.

“It is surprising and sad that those who insult Mumbai and Maharashtra are receiving ‘Y’ level security from the Center. Maharashtra is not only of the NCP, Shiv Sena or Congress, but also of the BJP and the public. People of all parties should condemn it if one insults Maharashtra, ”Deshmukh said, according to the ANI news agency.

Ranaut has been involved in a war of words with the government of Maharashtra and Raut after he compared “Mumbai to Pakistani-occupied Kashmir” last Thursday.
