‘Shivanand Tiwari working to help weak BJP-JD (U) government’: Congress criticizes RJD leader who attacked Rahul | Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 Election News

NEW DELHI: On Monday, Congress responded to senior RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari, accusing him of working to help the “weak” BJP-JD (U) government in Bihar.
Congress reacted to Shivanand Tiwari’s comments on Sunday in which he held Rahul Gandhi responsible for Mahagathbandan’s loss of vote in the state.
“Shivanand Tiwari has changed parties time and again and was a JD (U) MP. No wonder his loyalty still appears to be with JD (U). He is making unsubstantiated accusations against Congress to help the weak government of JD (U) -BJP, “said Shaktisinh Gohil, the party in charge of Bihar.
The congressional leader said the party agreed with all the decisions of its allies to keep the Mahagathbandhan intact.
“We also agreed to contest seats where the grand alliance had not won for more than 30 years,” he said, adding that “RJD will have to identify those people, otherwise the parties and Bihar will suffer in the coming days.”
On Sunday, RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari said the big party had “shackled” the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ in the state.
“The Congress chained the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ with chains in the assembly elections. It contested 70 seats but did not hold even 70 rallies.
“Rahul Gandhi visited Bihar for three days and addressed two rallies a day. Priyanka Gandhi was not seen at all. When the election campaign was in full swing, she was having a picnic with Priyanka Gandhi in Shimla,” Tiwari said.
Bihar Congress leaders have demanded that Shivanand Tiwari be fired by the RJD.
“Shivanand Tiwari is not an official RJD spokesperson. He is hand in hand with the BJP and JD (U), and is speaking their language. He is speaking like Giriraj Singh (union minister). mentally bankrupt man is expelled from his party, “said Prem Chandra Mishra, member of the AICC and MLC media panel.
Later, he tweeted in Hindi that an RJD leader speaking the “language of Giriraj Singh and Shahnawaz Hussain” is unacceptable to Congress.
“There is something called the Dharma coalition and all parties must follow it,” he wrote on the microblogging website.
RJD spokespersons Mrityunjay Tiwari and Chittaranjan Gagan said that Shivanand Tiwari’s views were personal and that his statements did not reflect the party’s position.
“Shivanand Tiwari is a high-ranking leader and mentor for us. But the opinions expressed by him are personal. Tejashwi Yadav and other high-ranking RJD leaders will discuss the outcome of the elections,” Gagan said.
