Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut Mocks Minister Raosaheb Danve’s “China, Pak” Comment on Farmers’ Protests, Says They Are On Surgical Strike

'Carry out surgical strike': Sena's mockery of 'China, Pak' minister's comment

Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut mocked BJP for the comments of Union Minister Raosaheb Danve.

New Delhi:

The government should “immediately carry out a surgical attack on China and Pakistan” if a minister has information about their role in the farmers’ protests, Maharashtra ruler Shiv Sena said today, mocking his former ally BJP.

“If a Union minister has information that China and Pakistan are behind the farmers’ agitation, then the defense minister should immediately carry out a surgical strike against China and Pak. The president, the prime minister, the Interior Minister and the heads of the Armed Forces should discuss this issue seriously, “said Rajya Sabha member of Shiv Sena and chief spokesman Sanjay Raut.

There have been strong reactions to comments by Union Minister Raosaheb Danve yesterday about the mass protests by farmers on the roads outside Delhi against three new core laws.

“The turmoil that is happening is not that of the farmers. China and Pakistan have a hand behind this. Muslims in this country were the first to incite themselves. What were (them) told? National Citizens’ National), CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) is coming and Muslims will have to leave this country in six months. Only one Muslim left, “Danve said at a function in Maharashtra.

A prominent Sikh body, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, condemned the comments.

“The farmers have been sitting peacefully and the government has failed to do justice … the farmers who fight and die for the nation, grow food and whose children are also martyred for the nation … don’t try to paint them anti-national,” he said on Wednesday the group’s president, S Manjinder Singh Sirsa, in a video message.

He called the insinuation “shameful” and said government ministers and spokesmen had been making such accusations.

Thousands of farmers across the country, especially those in Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting for two weeks against laws that they fear will take away their guaranteed profits and leave them at the mercy of large corporations. The government yesterday offered to amend the laws, but farmers want them eliminated entirely.
