At the 48th International Emmy Awards held on Monday; the team associated with Delhi Crime blazed with happiness when the show won the honor of “Best Drama Series”. While reactions to any award-winning moment are always special, it is lead actress Shefali Shah’s reaction that is winning the internet.
He posted a video on his Instagram profile, which was a recording of the awards show live while watching it on his laptop. An announcer takes the stage and announces that the winner of ‘Best Drama’ is Delhi Crime. As soon as he said those words, Shefali burst into ecstatic screams, repeating “oh my god” over and over again, before saying “are you kidding me?” He even captioned the video “OMGGGGGGGGGG” repeated for three sentences.
She stops her screams of joy when the screen passes Richie Mehta, the show’s producer who joins the awards via video conference. As the pandemic continues, the nominees sat in the safety of their homes and virtually attended the awards ceremony. He thanked everyone involved in the program and his wife, who is currently pregnant with a girl. He also thanked Netflix, the platform that hosted the show.

Delhi Crime was the only Indian winner at the awards ceremony. The International Emmy Award is an award given by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (IATAS) to all dramas in the world, while the Primetime Emmy is limited only to American shows (television and web series).
