Many Indian celebrities have reacted to Kamala Harris’ victory and highlighted her Indian heritage. Among those who joined the celebrations was actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha, who also drew attention to his family’s association with the vice president-elect of the United States.
On Twitter, he mentioned how his niece, Preet Sinha, the daughter of his older brother, was closely associated with Kamala. He wrote: “Congratulations with all my heart! While the world is delighted with your spectacular and well deserved victory by @JoeBiden! Nor should we forget the desirable, elegant, wonderful, intelligent intellectual par excellence @KamalaHarris in her most anticipated victory. Prestige!”

He also shared a photo of Preeta with Kamala, who also appeared on Preeta’s unverified Instagram account, but is followed by the actor and Shatrughan’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha.

Several other Bollywood celebrities took to their social networks to celebrate Kamala’s victory. Kareena shared an image with a quote from Kamala and wrote: “My mother would look at me and say, ‘Kamala, you can be the first to do a lot of things. But make sure you’re not the last. ”
