New Delhi: Congressman Shashi Tharoor detained the Modi government while speaking at the Lahore Literature Festival questioning India’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mocking India in his virtual speech, Tharoor raised various issues from US President Donald Trump’s visit in February to the Tablighi Jamaat and sought validation from Rahul Gandhi saying that the former president of Congress had alerted the government of Modi on the pandemic, but the prime minister did not act.

“The Indian government is not doing well and people are realizing this. Rahul Gandhi mentioned as early as February that COVID-19 must be taken seriously, otherwise India will face an economic catastrophe, for which it should receive credit for it, “Tharoor said.

‘Tharoor smears India globally’

We fight against intolerance and prejudice arising in India due to a pandemic. Tablighi Jamaat super spreader The event was used to justify outright intolerance and discrimination against Muslims, Tharoor said.

In reaction to Tharoor’s remarks, the BJP launched a scathing attack on the Thiruvananthapuram MP for “defaming” India at one stage of Pakistan.

Calling Congress out of his love for Pakistan, the BJP said that “it is so silly and youthful that someone who calls himself an intellectual say what he said by painting Rahul Gandhi as the modern Nostradamus.”

‘Tablighi Jamaat event used to justify intolerance against Muslims’

Attacking Modi appears to be the flavor of the congressmen, the BJP said.

Earlier this month, CJI SA Bobde, while listening to petitions filed by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind and others seeking action against a media organization that allegedly gave communal color to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Tablighi Jamaat congregation , had called ‘Freedom of expression’ to one of the most abused freedoms in recent times.

Former Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy said: “I am saddened to see the only other party in all of India delivering paki propaganda. And at the helm is, of course, your know-it-all spokesperson expert only in using inscrutable English. It comes from being headed by an overgrown teenager. “
