New Delhi:
An exchange between MP Shashi Tharoor and writer Chetan Bhagat amused many on social media this morning and gave them a chance to enjoy some new “Tharoorosaurus” gems.
It started with the former Union minister congratulating Chetan Bhagat on a newspaper article that talked about the economy and how the country’s youth should start caring about it in order for the government to act.
“Splendid article by Chetan Bhagat on everything that afflicts our country and what we must do about it. Chetan’s great virtue is the simplicity and frankness of his writing. His message is clear and I hope his followers in government will act. accordingly, “Shashi Tharoor tweeted.
Chetan Bhagat was stunned and did not bother to hide it. “Ok, I still can’t get over this. The ShashiTharoor has praised Chetan Bhagat. I’m floating. Just one request sir, next time you can use some important words to praise me, like only you can do. Excellent is good but a big one would really make my day! “- he replied.
Always in sport, Mr. Tharoor wrote exactly what Chetan Bhagat had asked for: a sentence filled with long and unusual words. “Sure, @chetan_bhagat! It is clear that you are neither Sesquipedal nor given to the rodomontade. Your ideas are not embellished with tortuous convolutions and are expressed without ostentation. I appreciate the limpid insight of today’s column,” wrote the MP from Kerala.
The internet couldn’t keep calm.
