S&P BSE Sensex was above 45,800 while the NSE Nifty of 50 socks surpassed 13,450 at the opening bell. ITC, IndusInd Bank and ONGC were the top winners among Sensex’s constituents, while UltraTech Cement and Maruti Suzuki were the only stocks to trade at a loss. The broader markets were also gaining and outperforming the benchmarks. Global pairs signals were positive on Wednesday morning. Hang Seng, TOPIX, KOSPI were trading with gains on Wednesday.
Private sector lender ICICI Bank said it will sell a 2.21% stake in its brokerage arm ICICI Securities through an offer to sell. ICICI Bank will sell the stake at an offer price of Rs 440 per share, starting today. The minimum price is discounted to the share price of Rs 508 each, at the close of Tuesday. The sale of the stake could help ICICI Bank reinforce capital for the bank to raise Rs 313 million. The stock sale process is moving toward meeting the company’s minimum public float requirement, the private sector lender said. Today, the tender will open only to non-retail investors, while retail investors will be able to participate in the process tomorrow.
