Stock Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty Stock Prices LIVE: The national stock market benchmark indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading at record highs before the expiration of the December series derivative contracts later in the day. BSE Sensex hit an all-time high of 47,860.3, while the broader Nifty 50 Index crossed the crucial 14,000 level. The top Sensex winners were ONGC, Bajaj Finance, Titan Company, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Bajaj Finsv, and ICICI Bank. Out of 30 Sensex shares, 14 scrips were trading in the red, led by State Bank of India (SBI). The other laggards in the pack were Nestlé India, UltraTech Cement, TCS, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HUL, Kotak Mahindra Bank. Except for the Nifty FMCG and Nifty IT indices, all sector indices were trading in positive territory. The Nifty Realty Index was up nearly one percent, followed by the Nifty Metal Index, which gained half a percent. The Japan and South Korean stock markets were closed on Thursday for a holiday.
If 2020 was a roller coaster ride for investors, the New Year may not be any different. Any reversal of liquidity could trigger a sharp reversal in the markets.
