“Unfortunately, the letter from the Hon. Governor to the Chief Minister invokes the connotation as if it were written for the leader of a political party,” Pawar tweeted, after delivering the letter to Modi.

“In the preamble of our Constitution, the word Secular is added, which equates and protects all religions and, therefore, the president of the Chief Minister must defend such principles of the Constitution,” added the head of the PCN.
Pawar said he has conveyed his views to Modi regarding Koshyari’s letter.
“I’m sure he would have also noticed the intemperate language that has been used and also the type of language used in the letter that is not well suited to a person holding a constitutional office,” Pawar said.

Earlier, a letter war broke out between the Governor of Maharashtra and Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray, with the former questioning the state government for not reopening places of worship.
In a scathing letter to Uddhav, Koshyari sought to learn the reason behind the delay in reopening places of worship and asked if the prime minister had suddenly become “secular”.
“He has been a great devotee of Hindutwa, he publicly embraced his devotion to Lord Rama by visiting Ayodhya after taking office as CM, he visited the Vitthal Rukmini Mandir, Pandharpur and performed the puja at Ashadhi Ekadishi, “Koshyari said, requesting Uddhav to reopen the places of worship.
Thackeray responded in equally strong words.
The prime minister said he does not require a certificate for his concept of Hindutva of Koshyari and you don’t need to learn it from anyone.
“My definition of Hindutva is very clear, neither my state nor the state capital will give an enthusiastic welcome to a person, who called Mumbai POK. It doesn’t fit my Hindutva,” Thackeray said.
Thackeray was referring to an encounter between actor Kangana Ranaut and Koshyari last month.
