Mumbai:

Maharashtra must accept coronavirus as a part of life and begin the process of relaxation of the blockade, suggested to Sharad Pawar, chief of Nationalist Congress Party, today. In a series of tweets, Mr Pawar, whose party is part of the state’s ruling coalition, said that there was a discussion on the issue with the Chief Minister for Uddhav Thackeray today.

After the Centre announced the safety lock 4 with a series of relaxations and left to the states to decide on the specifics, Maharashtra, which has the largest portion of the country coronavirus patients, indicated that not the ease of locking in a pinch.

Allowing 50,000 industries to open in the green zone — that has a minimal or no cse of coronavirus — the prime Minister said that the state has managed to avoid a major outbreak only by the lock. “What if we lift the blockade and this coronavirus spreads everywhere? I’m not going to let that happen in Maharashtra,” he said.

But with the economy in mind the cost of a prolonged imprisonment, Mr Pawar today offered a roadmap for the easing of restrictions and get the state back on the path of recovery.

“Crown of the disease will not be completely eradicated soon. It is necessary to accept the crown as a part of life, take care of it and to create awareness among the masses about the health care. In Japan, people wear masks, take care of personal hygiene as part of their routine social life,” his tweet read.

Later tweets, he talked about the provision of incentives to the industry and to restart the transport, the ports and the education sector.

The state, he said, needs to have the “right steps to restore gradually,” the road transport and the plan for the resumption of air and rail services. The Centre has already announced the resumption of 200 trains from next month.

Shops, offices, establishments in the private sector must be opened in a staggered manner.

The pace of work in the public and private ports seems to have slowed down, Mr Pawar twitter. To increase imports, exports and inland shipping, consultations should be held with industrialists, businessmen and experts to officials in the field.

“The new employment opportunities have emerged for unemployed people in Maharashtra. An action plan should be prepared on how to accommodate them in the industry,” one of the tweets read.

To build the confidence of the public, ministers and government officials must work together. The government must keep the people posted about relaxations through daily briefings, he said.
