MUMBAI: Senior politician Sharad Pawar seems to have misunderstood Rahul gandhi, Maharashtra Minister Balasaheb Thorat said Monday, days after the head of NCP allegedly observed that the former Congress The president apparently lacked coherence.
Speaking to reporters here, Thorat, who heads the state congressional unit, also praised Rahul Gandhi for “coming out of a personal crisis and leading the party.”
In an interview with a Marathi newspaper, Pawar reportedly said that Rahul Gandhi appeared to lack coherence.
Thorat said that Rahul Gandhi has acceptance in Congress and that the party is organizing under his leadership.
He alleged that “some BJP mechanisms have been targeting Rahul Gandhi.”
“But, Rahulji will guide us successfully … We accept the seniority of the honorable Pawar saheb. But it seems that he has failed to understand Rahul ji,” Thorat added.
Pawar’s comments appear not to have been well received by Congress, which is a constituent in the Shiv Sena. Maha vikas aghadi (MVA) together with the NCP.
On Saturday, State Minister and Congressional Leader Yashomati Thakur said voters in the MVA dispensation should stop commenting on Congressional leadership if they want a “stable” government in the state.
