The statements by the Permanent Representative of India to the UN, TS Tirumurti, came as he addressed the third anniversary of the India-UN Development Partnership Fund at the Permanent Mission of India to the UN.
Established in 2017, the Fund has so far supported 59 projects in 48 countries, through $ 47.8 million in contributions from a multi-year pledge of $ 150 million from India.

He told the virtual commemoration that India throughout history has prioritized cooperation over conflict, coexistence over competition, sharing over reception, plurality over hegemony and inclusion, and democracy over exclusion and control. . “This has also underpinned our approach to development cooperation.”
Noting that India has always been a strong supporter of non-development resources in multilateral institutions, Mr. Tirumurti said that sustainability has been the focus of India’s development efforts.
