about the video

A mass public participation funeral was held in Ladakh for a martyred Tibetan soldier. Company leader Nyima Tenzin of the Border Special Force was killed in a landmine explosion during an operation on the Royal Line of Control in Ladakh from 29 to 30 August. The army truck carrying his remains was adorned with the Indian tricolor and the Tibetan flag. Many people followed the truck in their vehicles, carrying the same flags. Chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Tibet Desh Ki Jai’ were heard at the cremation site. The forces bid the fallen soldier farewell with all military honors, including a salute with weapons from a ceremonial guard. The solemn ceremony was attended by important politicians such as Ram Madhav and Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, a member of Lok Sabha, both from the Bharatiya Janata Party. According to experts, this was the first time that an SFF soldier received a public funeral. It could be seen as a message to China amid the current border clash. Chinese forces are also occupying Tibet, and India has acted as a haven for Tibetans, including their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, who is fleeing persecution.
