Thackeray did not name any parties, but his comments came in the context of street protests by the Maharashtra BJP for the reopening of temples in the state and on the issue of inflated electricity bills in the recent past.
Thackeray informed the Prime Minister that the Maharashtra government has formed a task force to manage the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine once it is available.
“The second wave of COVID-19 is approaching and we are returning life to normal with proper precautions as directed by the Center. Thackeray said that a few months ago Maharashtra, the country’s hardest-hit state, used to report around 24,000 COVID-19 cases a day, but now the situation has improved.
The number has now dropped to between 4,700 and 5,000 cases a day, the prime minister added.
Thackeray said that while the daily COVID-19 patient count has dropped, the state government has asked people to be careful and not take them by surprise.
The prime minister said that a task force has been established to oversee distribution and vaccination in Maharashtra and that the government is in constant contact with Adar Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India to track the development of his coronavirus vaccine, the statement said. quoting Thackeray.
Mr. Poonawalla is the Executive Director of the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, which has partnered with major pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford to manufacture a vaccine for COVID-19.

Thackeray said his government’s My Family, My Responsibility campaign has received a good response from the people and has managed to contain the spread of the disease.
He said that the state government has data on 11.92 billion people, which will help prepare a health map of the state.
Thackeray said that attention needs to be paid to the health problems faced by people recovering after being infected by COVID-19.
He said that between 70,000 and 80,000 tests are currently being carried out daily in the state and additional instructions have been issued to increase the number of RT-PCR tests, considered the most reliable tool to detect the virus.
The statement said that according to the presentation made by the Union health secretary, the number of daily patients in Maharashtra has decreased in the last two weeks, adding that it ranks last in the table of eight states that represent most of the cases nationwide. .
