Second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign from March 1: everything you need to know | India News

NEW DELHI: India is set to begin the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign that will cover 10 million people across the country starting Monday. The vaccines will be available starting March 1 at 10,000 government health centers and around 12,000 private centers.
Training will be provided to health workers and other personnel who will administer vaccination and other standard procedures at the centers over the next two days, the Health Ministry said.

States and UT have been asked to keep a vaccination expansion plan ready that will include weekly and biweekly granular plans to expand vaccination sites both within government and private facilities and also the number of vaccine doses administered.
This is all you need to know:
-People over 60 or over 45 with certain health conditions may be eligible for vaccination in this round.
-People who want to be vaccinated in the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination must register on the Co-WIN platform.
-Recipients will be able to self-register in advance by downloading the CO-Win 2.0 portal and through other IT applications such as Arogya Setu, etc. This will show the government and private hospitals that serve as Covid Vaccination Centers (CVC) with date and time of the available hours. The beneficiary can choose the CVC of their choice and make an appointment for the vaccination.
-There will also be a walk-in provision for recipients to register at a nearby session site to get vaccinated. A beneficiary will only have to register with their mobile number and, in turn, will receive an OTP with which their account will be created. You can also register your family members on the account.
-The new version of the Co-WIN platform will be GPS-enabled and beneficiaries will have the option to choose the site of the inoculation session in both government and private facilities.
-Registration can be done for four people from a mobile application. People can also sign up through the Aarogya Setu app by checking one-time passwords (OTP).
-For those who do not have mobile phones, 2.5 lakh common service centers with adequate internet facilities have been opened.
-For people who cannot register, they can directly visit the vaccination center together with the required documents and register.
-The vaccination will be free in government facilities and will be paid for in private facilities.
-For people over 60 years old, no additional document is required, they must validate their identity by means of Aadhaar ID, driver’s license, voter ID, passport and PAN ID when they visit the center since they are not accepted online.
-For those between 45-60 years, a certificate of comorbidity is required.
-Volunteers will be available at each vaccination center to assist individuals and ensure that all Covid-19 standard operating procedures are followed.
