LUCK: Every school in the state will resume classes on a staggered basis beginning October 19, and students will be called on alternate days. Senior Deputy Minister Dinesh Sharma, who is also Minister of Secondary and Higher Education, announced that in the first phase, schools will reopen for classes IX to XII. Classes will be held in two shifts and students will be called on alternate days. Classes IX and X will be held on the first shift, while classes XI and XII will be held on the second shift.
“Only 50% of the total number of students will be called in a single shift, the rest will be called the next day. Students wishing to attend classes will be allowed only after parents provide written approval. “Initially, Classes IX onwards will resume amid strict Covid security protocol,” Sharma said.
He said it will be mandatory for schools to have a thermal scanner and other essential medical facilities. The school must ensure that the campus, classrooms, restrooms, and playgrounds are disinfected daily and after a shift ends. All arrangements must be made to maintain adequate social distancing.
Schools in Lucknow, which was previously announced to reopen from October 15, will also now open on October 19.
