The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered the closure of schools until class 8 until March 31 in view of COVID-19. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a review meeting on Friday ordered regular classes to resume shortly for 10th and 12th graders.
There will be no exams for classes 1 to 8 as the assessment will be based on project work, according to a Times of India report. The state government mandated that the board examinations for the 10th and 12th standard also be conducted in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines.
Standard 9 and 11 students will have classes once or twice a week. The next academic session will start in April 2021, CM Shivraj Chouhan said in a review meeting.
“With the help of society, every public school must become an excellent institution of education and learning. A committee of academic experts should be formed as a guide.
