Actress Sayani Gupta mocked Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh for his stoic silence on the current situation in the country. Shah Rukh tweeted a photo of her children on Friday to commemorate the Father of the Nation, the 151st anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth. The photo shows his daughter Suhana and son AbRam doing the ‘Gandhi ji three monkeys’ pose with another girl.
“If this Gandhi Jayanti there is an ideal that we would like our children to follow, in good times, in bad times and all the time … it should be not hearing bad … not seeing bad … not speaking bad! Remembering the value of truth on the 151st anniversary of Gandhiji’s birth, ”Shah Rukh tweeted alongside the image.
Citing his tweet, Sayani urged him to “speak for the truth” and not “just close your ears, eyes and mouth.” She wrote: “Say something. The right thing to do. Gandhi also taught us to defend the Truth, the oppressed, the exploited, for our Dalit brothers and sisters.”
