India’s inaugural batsman Shikhar Dhawan will celebrate his 35th birthday on Saturday. The left-handed hitter is currently in Australia as India battles the hosts in an international T20 series before embarking on a four-match test series. On the occasion ‘Gabbar’, as he is affectionately called, received birthday wishes from various current and former cricketers.
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh wished Dhawan every success in “creating some thunder” as the left-handed batsman prepares for the second T20I against Australia on Sunday.

India batsman KL Rahul, who was also Dhawan’s starting partner in the first T20I on Friday, wished the southpaw every happiness.
“Happy birthday @ SDhawan25, much love and I wish you all the happiness,” Rahul tweeted.
Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman also wished Dhawan on his 35th birthday.
“Wishing @ SDhawan25 a very, very happy birthday. Have a wonderful year and enjoy much success and happiness, Shikhar, ”Laxman tweeted.
Former starting batsman Virender Sehwag said he greatly admires Dhawan and expressed his sincere wishes on his birthday.
Dhawan has played 139 ODI, 62 T20I and 34 Tests for India. The left-handed hitter has accumulated 9,712 international runs.
Along with Rohit Sharma, he is part of the most prolific association in T20I men’s cricket, and the pair have scored 1,743 runs together.
