The fine was paid by Palanivel (₹ 3.25 crore), Mrs Sasikala’s brother-in-law; Vasantha Devi (₹ 3.75 crore), Mr. Palanivel’s wife; and Hema (₹ 3 crore), wife of Sasikala’s nephew, Dr. Venkatesh.
VK Sasikala, a close confidant of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, serving a prison sentence at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru in the disproportionate assets case, has paid the fine amounts of ₹ 10 crore and ₹ 10,000 imposed on her, according to your attorney Raja Senthoor Pandian. Following payment of the fines, Sasikala is likely to be released from jail on January 27, 2021.
