Sandalwood drug case: Ragini Dwivedi in custody for 14 days

The Sandalwood actress, Ragini Dwivedi, has been in court custody until Sept. 28, according to an order approved by the first ACMM court around 4 p.m. Monday. They will take her to Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on Monday night.

Officials from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) did not seek the extension of police custody of Dwivedi, as she was arrested on September 4 at her home after conducting a search.

Dwivedi is currently in police custody for 11 days and the police had the option of detaining her again for three more days. The court had already awarded him police custody three times.

She will be housed in a special dedicated block in the prison and assigned a separate cell. The other inmates of the prison will not be able to know her for security reasons. Police have also tightened security in the block where she will be staying and entry to the jail at night will be restricted to prevent crowds from gathering to see the actress.

According to sources, she will be housed in a barracks where VK Sashikala is staying. They can give you an adjacent cell.

Actress Sanjjanaa was also arrested after conducting a search at her home in Indiranagar on September 8. Police had asked the court to extend her custody for five days, but the court is still hearing that argument. Both actresses, along with other defendants, have been arrested in a case registered under the NDPS Act.

Before presenting them in court, CCB officials had taken the duo to KC General hospital, where they underwent general medical tests and a Covid-19 test. Doctors at the hospital had certified that the duo were healthy.
