A senior officer from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) said DH that they have arrested actress Sanjjanaa Galrani in connection with a drug scandal case registered at the Cottonpet police station. They will present it in court and we will ask the court to release it to police custody.
The CCB searched the apartment of actor Sanjjanaa Galrani in Indiranagar and detained her earlier after a four and a half hour search. Authorities searched her home in connection with the Sandalwood-related drug scandal. Police began the search around 6:30 a.m. and completed the search around 11 a.m. Officials thoroughly searched Sanjjanaa’s home, including the flower pots, kitchen, her room, balcony, and cars.
Officials also conducted a home search for Viren Khanna’s home in Shanthi Nagar in central Bengaluru, he is a businessman and organizer of large parties often attended by Kannada actors, businessmen and other VVIPs. Officials had taken search warrants from the court to search the houses of Sanjjanaa and Viren.

A team of about eight police officers, including Police Inspector Anjumala T Nayak and Inspector Puneeth Kumar, searched Sanjjanaa’s home, while Police Inspector Sridhar K Pujar and Mohammed Siraj searched the Viren’s house. He was arrested in Delhi a few days ago and was taken into police custody.
Sanjjanaa’s close friend, Rahul Thonshe, was arrested a few days ago. Based on his statement and other accused persons, officials searched his home. Rahul is an architect and also a businessman. When he was arrested, Sanjjanaa addressed the media saying that Rahul is his brother ‘Rakhi’ and is an innocent person, but that she has nothing to do with his link to the drug mafia.
According to officials, Sanjjanaa Galrani initially cooperated during the search, but after some time began to argue with them. Officials seized a laptop, a hard drive and her three mobile phones from her flat. They also questioned her family members, employees before questioning her. CCB officials said they obtained useful material for the case and immediately asked local police to confiscate the materials.
She had an argument with the police and told her that if they had served her a notice, she would have voluntarily appeared before them for questioning and would have told the police that there was no need for a search. She also mentioned that her mother is older, has fallen ill, and is worried about recent events. She had also asked the police to leave her home and she would follow them in her own car.
According to police sources, Sanjjanaa had gone to the office of a well-known high-level lawyer to obtain guidance on how to deal with the police and the procedures. But she ran into another defender at the office and took some advice, as she had a clue that the police could search her home at any time. Upon learning of the search, her lawyer rushed to her apartment.
The officials ordered food from a hotel for themselves and also for Sanjjanaa’s family members, initially Sanjjanaa refused to eat breakfast, but then ate something. The authorities also questioned her about a doctor who worked in a private hospital with which she was very close. Rahul had revealed the doctor’s name.
“Sanjjanaa’s name had been featured in the drug scandal from day one, but we did not rush to search her home as we needed some evidence, once we got enough evidence, we searched her home and detained her.
