Mumbai: Samuel Miranda, the home manager of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, reportedly confessed to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) that he used to buy drugs for the late actor.
On Friday, the NCB arrested Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda in connection with the drug investigation linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Showik and Samuel will appear in court today.
‘I used to buy drugs for the deceased actor. ‘
The sections pressed against the duo are 20 (b) that deals with the production, manufacture, possession, sale, purchase and transport of cannabis, 28 (punishment for attempted crime), 29 (punishment for complicity and criminal conspiracy) and 27 (a) that defines the punishment for financing illicit trafficking and harboring offenders.
An NCB official told PTI that the agency has a “strong case.”
The NCB carried out raids at various locations in Mumbai, including the homes of Showik Chakraborty and the late actor’s home manager, Samuel Miranda. At around 6.30am, NCB teams began the raids, which came a day after the Mumbai court sent alleged drug dealer Zaid Vilatra into NCB custody for seven days. The raids are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.
Showik, Samuel will appear in court today
The office filed a case against Rhea, her brother Showik, Talent Manager Jaya Saha, Sushant Co-Manager Shruti Modi, and Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya under Sections 20 (b) 28, 29 of the Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
The case was registered after WhatsApp messages between Rhea and Shruti Modi, Miranda and Pithani came to light.
Yesterday, Vikas Singh, a lawyer for the deceased actor’s father, KK Singh, said that the Mumbai police misled the investigation in the Rajput death case and expressed confidence that the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) will soon make a disclosure in the case.
Sushant was found dead in his Bandra flat on June 14.
