Samsung’s upcoming truly wireless (TWS) headphones could be called ‘Galaxy Buds Beyond,’ according to a recent trademark filing by the Korean company with the US Patent and Trademark Office. Although nothing else is known about Samsung’s next true wireless earbuds, this trademark presentation suggests that the launch could be just a few months away. The new earphones could even come alongside the Samsung Galaxy S21 series of smartphones which could reportedly be from January 2021.
The trademark filing was detected by 9to5Google and does not suggest anything beyond the product name. In fact, Samsung could even go a completely different path with the product name before launch, given that we are still at least two months away from launch. A recent report suggests that the Galaxy S21 series will be unveiled in January and the new earphones will be on display alongside it.
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Buds Live true wireless earbuds alongside the Note 20 series, which are priced at Rs. 14,990 in India and feature active noise cancellation. While the unique shape and style may appeal to many buyers, I found the odd fit and ordinary active noise-canceling performance to be a bit disappointing.
The upcoming Galaxy Buds Beyond headphones are likely to be the successors to the Galaxy Buds + released earlier this year, alongside the Galaxy S20 series. This suggests that the new earbuds will have the more traditional channel fit and style, but could feature active noise cancellation and other premium features like wireless charging, advanced Bluetooth codec support, and more.
