Samsung had the wildest response to Apple without including an iPhone 12 charger

The latest Apple iPhone does not come with a charger. But it offers ample opportunities for other brands to do some digging.

The latest edition of the iPhone series is here and Apple fans only have one question: where is the power adapter?

On Tuesday, the tech giant introduced four iPhones to its family, namely iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Launched at the “Hi, Speed” virtual launch presentation, all iPhone 12 models are equipped with Apple’s A14 Bionic chip and come with Apple’s Super Retina XDR display. Also, the new iPhones get the MagSafe option that magnetically attaches to the back of the phone for wireless charging.

But something is missing in the new slim cases of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini. There is no power adapter or EarPods included with both iPhones.

So what’s in the box?

An iPhone and a USB-C to Lightning cable. That’s.

Understandably, Apple fans were upset about the move; What if someone had never bought an iPhone before? Would they have to pay more for a charger, an accessory without which their phone would surely not work?

It wasn’t just the iFansboys that criticized Apple for the decision: Samsung, Apple’s ‘rival’ brand and one of the major Android mobile companies, criticized Apple for not including a charger.

In a Facebook post, they put a picture of the Samsung Galaxy adapter and titled it “Included with your Galaxy.”

While the digging is fun, the reason behind Apple’s exclusion of the charger is for greener reasons – it’s trying to cut down on waste.

Apple says making this change allows the iPhone 12 series boxes to be significantly smaller and that means 70% more boxes can be shipped in the same space compared to the previous year’s iPhone boxes.

Apple says these changes will reduce more than 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions a year, which is equivalent to taking nearly 450,000 cars off the road per year. There are reasons why removing chargers from new smartphone cases makes perfect sense.

For phone manufacturers, it could help cut costs significantly, because they will save resources on one charger for every phone they make. That number will rise to millions within a few months of launch, particularly for popular phones.

It also helps make the phone’s packaging smaller and more compact, allowing more to be shipped at the same time, which is definitely great news for the environment. There will be fewer requirements for packaging materials and subsequently less waste. For businesses, that also saves shipping costs – smaller packages mean more boxes can be shipped in the same space and price.
