Samsung Galaxy S30 Ultra Introduces Leak Showing Thick Rear Camera

Samsung Galaxy S30 Ultra Render

  • Renders of the Samsung Galaxy S30 Ultra have been leaked.
  • They show a phone with a great camera shot and a four-camera setup.

We recently heard a rumor that Samsung’s next set of flagships could arrive earlier than usual. It seems that it is also true because of its leaks. After releasing renders of the Samsung Galaxy S30 (or whatever Samsung decides to call it), OnLeaks whistleblower aka Steve Hemmerstoffer has also filtered out renders for the Galaxy S30 Ultra.

The design of the Ultra model looks almost identical to the vanilla S30, albeit with some differences. You will immediately notice that the rear camera housing is much larger. Hemmerstoffer claims that it is almost twice the size of the Galaxy S30 and contains a total of four camera sensors. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know about the camera settings, but he points to recent rumors suggesting that the phone could have dual zoom lenses, as well as wide and ultra-wide sensors.

Looking at the image above, you might think that the rear cameras are aligned with the body of the phone. However, a side profile of the device shows the bulge of the camera as it really is (see images below). So even though Samsung has changed the location of the case a bit, it may still be quite thick.

The total footprint of the phone measures 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm. That’s pretty much the same as the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The display also keeps the punch hole centered and is said to measure between 6.7 inches and 6.9 inches. Again, something as high as what you get with the current top-of-the-line Galaxy S flagship. The insider claims that unlike the flat screen on the Galaxy S30, the screen on the Galaxy S30 Ultra is slightly curved around the edges.

In other places, you will see the volume and power keys on the right edge of the phone and a USB-C port at the bottom. Hemmerstoffer confirms that there is no place to put an S-Pen on the phone, but does not rule out the possibility that it supports one.

That’s all the information this latest leak presents. You can expect to see a lot more in the coming days as the series’ launch nears.
