Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra get the first public beta version of Android 11 / One UI 3.0

As expected, the beta version of One UI 3.0 is now available in South Korea for the Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra. You can join through the Samsung Members app, although please note that there are a limited number of places available for beta testers. SIM-free phone users and those of the major carriers (SKT, KT and LGU +) can join.

Those who join will experience Android 11 enhanced with a long list of changes to One UI. Version 3 brings improvements to every corner of the software, from Always On Display to the Internet browser, from DeX to accessibility features.

However, keep in mind that the list of known issues is quite long. That’s to be expected with beta versions, participants will let Samsung know when a particular issue has been resolved so you can move on to the next one.

Some apps won’t run at all, at least not with the initial One UI 3.0 beta release. If one of these is essential for you, you should wait for the stable version. Note that you can cancel your membership in the beta program and go back to the current stable software (just make sure you back up your data first).

The beta testing program should soon expand to the US (and probably Europe and India), although that could take a couple of weeks.
