Samsung has so far released two folding smartphones and is already working on second-generation variants. But the company could release a lighter version of the Galaxy Fold that launched last year.
Nicknamed “Galaxy Fold Lite,” this foldable phone is said to have a smaller screen like the Galaxy Z Flip, Max Weinbach of XDA developers revealed. And it will come with a mix of parts from 2018, 2019 and 2020, he added. Weinbach also claimed that this is a rumor rather than a leak, but he still believes it to be real.
I have information on the Galaxy Fold Lite.
-Galaxy Fold Lite 4G
-256 GB of storage
-Black mirror, purple mirror
-The screen does not have UTG
-It will be equipped with a mix of 2018/19/20 pieces
-the outside will probably have a smaller screen (not like Fold, but more like Z Flip)– Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach) May 12, 2020
In terms of specs, Galaxy Fold Lite is said to come with only 4G support, 256GB storage, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor. The flip phone will have an aluminum and glass body with a smaller screen than the Galaxy Fold. It will come in two color options: “Mirror Black” and “Mirror Purple”. The foldable phone is expected to be priced at $ 1,099 (approximately Rs 82,700), and will be available worldwide.
Weinbach also mentions Winner2, which is the code name for the rumored Galaxy Fold 2. However, the specs for this foldable phone are different from those of the Galaxy Fold Lite. There could be two phones under the Galaxy Fold line, and Samsung is expected to unveil at least one this summer.
Samsung has also confirmed the launch of foldable phones alongside Note models for this year. The company also plans to expand its 5G product line globally.
