The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has affected smartphone brands, and South Korean tech giant Samsung has also not been spared. The outbreak has forced the conglomerate to close its smartphone factories and close its stores in several countries.
Mass production of Samsung’s 3nm chips has also been delayed until 2022 due to COVID-19, but a report coming out of South Korea claims the company’s release schedule for the Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Fold 2. It has not changed due to the pandemic.
Samsung Galaxy Fold
Industry sources say Samsung began preparing to announce the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Note20 in August, as is tradition. But it is currently unclear whether Samsung will host a real event on the ground or opt for an online event for the presentation of its high-end Galaxy smartphones.
Nothing is known from Samsung about the launch event yet, and with no cure available for COVID-19, the situation remains dynamic, so something may still happen between now and August.
