Former defense minister and founder of the Samajwadi party, Mulayam Singh Yadav, has been admitted to a private hospital here after he complained about

stomach and urinary problems, a party spokesman said.

The former prime minister of Uttar Pradesh (80) had gone to Medanta Hospital here Wednesday night for his routine checkup, but doctors admitted him for monitoring his health for some stomach and urine-related problems, Rajendra Chaudhary said.

“His condition is now stable. He feels better,” he said.

Mulayam’s son and SP president Akhilesh Yadav, his younger brother and former state minister Shivpal Singh Yadav and other leaders visited him on Thursday at the hospital to ask about his health, Chaudhary said.
